Messalonskee, Gardiner, and Dexter earn top seeds in upcoming field hockey tournament

The high school field hockey regular season is over. Here is a look at some highlights. Full schedule will be posted when the standings are official through the Maine Prinipals’ Association.

In class A, Messalonskee finished 14-0 and is the number one seed. Skowhegan, Cony,and Mt. Blue will also host quarterfinal games. Mt. Ararat edged out Brewer for the final tournament spot.

In class B, Gardiner finished first. Winslow, Foxcroft, and Lawrence will host quarterfinal games. The two prelim games this Saturday will beOceanside at Nokomis and John Bapst at Camden Hills.

In class C, Dexter finished as the top seed. MCI, Mount View, and PCHS will also host quarterfinal games. Orono edged out Mattanawcook and Central for the final tournament spot. Prelims are this Saturday, quarterfinals will be next Tuesday and Wednesday. Semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, October 24th. Regionals will be Tuesday, October 27th at Thomas college. State finals are scheduled for Saturday, October 31st at the University of Maine.
