Each week during the high school sports season the High School Sports Examiner and Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of past winners.

A total of five Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations came in this week. TJ Crawford scored four touchdowns to lead the Old Town Coyotes to a win over Madison. Crawford is the sixth student/athlete from Old Town high school to earn athlete of the week honors. He joins Garrett Libby, Ethan Swedberg, Kendra Hayward, Rachel Martin, and Eric Hoogterp.

Other nominations include Grant Poulin from Central high school. Poulin had a big game in leading the 12-1 Red Devils to a victory over Mattanawcook. Dastan Orozbkov put the PCHS Pirates in great shape for a playoff spot when he recorded a hat trick in a win over Lee Academy. Brandon Brock made the most of his eight carries in a Ponies win over Belfast. Grant Doane lifted the PVHS Howlers to a win over Schenck.

October 11th-October 17th

Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

TJ Crawford- Old Town- football- rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns in 45-18 win over Madison. Crawford and the 7-0 Coyotes will end their regular season against MDI.

Runner up

Grant Poulin- Central- soccer- scored two goals and had two assists in 8-1 win over Mattanawcook.

Other nominations

Dastan Orozbkov – PCHS- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 5-2 win over Lee Academy.

Brandon Brock- Foxcroft- football- rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown in 48-8 win over Belfast.

Grant Doane- PVHS- soccer- scored two goals in 3-1 win over Schenck.
