Aashild Fridtun Is named Roadrunner taxi female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season the High School Sports Examiner and Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 168 past athlete of the week winners.

This week we had two Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations, both coming from the girls soccer state championship from Orono high school. Aashild Fridtun And Becky Lopez-Anido lifted the Red Riotto a regional final victory over Bucksport and state title win over Waynflete.

Fridtun is the 11th student/athlete from Orono high school to be named athlete of the week. She joins Christian Mowrer, Dominic Mowrer, Tyler Eddy, Andi Foster, Jillian Woodward, Diana Tyutyunnyk, Keenan Collett, Brinsley Chasse, Jackson Coutts, and Tia Tardy.

Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week

Aashild Fridtun – Orono soccer- scored two goals and had one assist in class C north regional championship victory over Bucksport. Had one goal in 3-2 class C state win over Waynflete

Runner up
Becky Lopez-Anido – Orono- soccer- recorded two goals and one assist in class C north regional championship victory over Bucksport. Had one assist in 3-2 overtime victory over Waynflete in class C state title game.
